Sonitec does not recommend the use of the VORTISAND® industrial water filter for applications where oil and grease are present. However, the filter could be used if the following measures are carefully taken: Bacteria controls must be rigorous. A too high bacteria level will contaminate the industrial water filter media and will create channelling inside the media. This situation will lead to a media carry over on the filtrate side of the industrial water filter. Because of the low water flow required for washing, the VORTISAND® industrial water filter allows use of municipal water instead of pool water, so that a smaller volume of water requires heating. This results in an appreciable energy saving (related to pool water heating). The Vortisand industrial water filter has proven themselves for more than 25 years and is the results of many years of research and development. These filters provide a filtration that is 10 to 20 times finer than that of the conventional sand filters. The Vortisand industrial water filter is very compact and require 75% to 90% less water for backwashing than other filters available on the market. |
